Jessica Saayman is an accomplished result driven Independent Consultant and Specialist in Assurance Consulting Services with more than 27 years’ proven experience in aspects (beyond just auditing) such as accounting and auditing technical, ethics and independence, quality assurance and peer reviews, and advisory engagements. Her involvement spans across multiple industries in both the public and private sectors.
Jessica began her journey with a strong academic foundation, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1997. Her academic talent and passion for finance inspired her to complete a Master’s Degree in International Accounting thereafter.
Jessica started her career as a qualified auditor in 1998 with Grant Thornton (South Africa), and served as the National Ethics and Independence leader for Grant Thornton (South Africa) during her tenure. After migrating to Brisbane at the end of 2013, she joined Deloitte Australia as an audit partner in 2014. In mid-2017, Jessica decided to leave Deloitte and continue her career as an independent consultant to pursue focusing on those aspects of audit and assurance for which she has a passion and sought after skill set. Over the past seven years she has developed her service offering, servicing a niche market segment which includes specialist services to a number of state Audit Offices, regulators and mid-tier audit firms. Her business’s motto is “Keeping you ticked”, underscoring her passion for helping her clients achieve and maintain their quality goals. As a specialist in this niche space of quality assurance and ethics she has been collaborating with service providers in other Australian states to service clients nationally. She is also part of another consulting team that presents CPD accredited sessions on technical and topical issues.
Jessica’s work is being recognized as a specialist in quality assurance, which further solidifies her reputation as a leading and reputable figure in the field. This is reflected in her appointment as a reviewer for CAANZ as well as being accredited to perform ASIC peer reviews.
Having a strong believe in paying blessings forward, Jessica is committed, both formally and informally, to mentorship and development of young professionals and students, guiding them to develop their skills, achieve their goals, and navigate challenges.
